Before the Appointment

Keep the air conditioning running at a normal setting so the house is not sitting warm and humid, and close the door to an affected room if you can. If water is still coming in, stop the source if it is safe to reach, and put a bucket and towels under an active drip.

What Happens After the Cleanup
Removal is only part of the job. The repair that stops the water, and the rebuilding of whatever came out, are separate pieces of work that should be named in the paperwork so nobody assumes someone else is handling them.
